No gutters? What do you attach your roof-rack to, then? ;-)

Looks bent - it should follow the front profile reasonably. Does the right end sag down and is pushing the centre top surface up?

at first i thought it might be a rear but like you say it does not follow the front panel and it is very wobbly. i have another one, its not as solid and its been painted with dulux will see how it looks on car.cheers.

not been on for a long time but have no fear the fastty is not forgotten.at this moment in time it is tucked away awaiting a rainy day.i have two loves , the fastty and a mk2 cortina (aaahhhh) i have always wanted to build a car from the chassis up and were i work i have the opportunity to do so, so i am full bore on this project at the moment, the mk2 that is.

i have had a few more idea,s as to what i want to do to the fastty and to make it as good as it can possibly be so there are no corners that can be cut as i know that the vw scene is one of the most critical around so it has to be bang on but at the same time i want to do something that is a bit different.

on the to do list are,

narrow the front wheels,
some how narrow the rear axle and tub the rear
and a bigger engine .

i have put a lot of work into this fastty and there is still loads to do so it is defo not going to waste away. what ever happerns you guys will be the first to see the progress. regaurds tony

yes been a long time but over the next few months i am planning the next stage of my fastty build. with my long trem project now getting towards completion ( still loads to do) its time to start making plans for the fastty.
as the floor pan is rubbish im going to make a new one from aluminium box section and at the same time convert it to mid engined useing a subaru engine and box, the current wheels will be replaced with 10x20" rears and 18"( possible narrowed ) fronts, all the suspension will be independant possible from a c5 corvette, now of course this is not an over night fix so you will have to bare with me while i get bits designed ready for the build. the idea is to keep it looking as standard as possible on the outside but as mad as f**k on the inside. as the ideas are drawn up i will start posting updates.

been a long time but yes its finally going to happen, the fastback build is back on.

i know some of you are not going to like what im about to do but i guess we all like what we like.as posted awhile back i was going to go alley chassis and mid mounted subaru power but that idea has been scrapped and instead im going to go v8 up front all xj40 running gear on a custom built chassis. i have designed a chassis and it goes to the laser cutters on wednesday so in the next couple of weeks i should be able to start building. i have got a few parts together so more soon.

can i put pic,s on with out using photo bucket

yes there are lots of alternative photo hosting sites. flickr for example. have a google and read the ts and cs because they will all be heading the way of photobucket so don't get caught out again!

You’ve got my attention!!

You can host your VW related pictures on the samba and then link then over to here. Same process as photobucket. That’s what I’m doing.

Now get posting some pictures :)

As per my previous post explaining about using the [img] function with the picture.

Or view each photo on the samba, at the top it says "Photo link" and "Forum code" copy the forum code and paste it into your message on here and the images will display :D
