It's funny that someone on the forum was converting a van back to an estate, and you're doing the reverse! Could have got together, but I guess it wouldn't have been so much fun!

well the Squareback went off to my mechanics garage and so far he has only found a track-rod end to be replaced......I have asked on "workshop" as to where I can get them.
Pictures off to garage.

I have a complete pair of good used track rods and tie rods available. I don't think I'll be converting my the front of my car back to a beam anytime soon :)

£30 to your door.

Many thanks for the offer Kai, the Squareback is now on the road and as usual I dare not collect too many spares or the other half will flip......lol
Cheers though.

I have now driven the squareback for the first time since owning it, Tax - Insurance - MOT all present.
Just a screaming speedo to sort and rear arches rolled as tires rubbing.

Your van is looking good mate. I hope the heating is pumping out ok!!! I'm not too far behind you and hope to have an MOT within the next week.

I had one of those wheel arch rollers. Your welcome to try it out if I can get hold of it again. Although you will be very hard pushed to roll the arch nicely on one of these. The metal is pretty thick. I had the lips on the front sliced up, then rolled and sealed. There is a company named arch nemesis or something. They offer an on site service. But when I spoke to the guy he said he tried to do an air cooled Vw in the past and was reluctant to do it again

I had the rear arches rolled and a very good job they did aswell.........see pictures. If you are in Essex/Suffolk I would highly recommend these guys ISC Racing.
Also painted all my suspension parts and shultzed the floorpan........only problem I had was with the fitting of a tire that the fitter FUCKED up my new powder coated wheel, idiot.6+

Hey good job!!! I see the paint survived most of the job. Did they heat it or just cold roll it?

They heated it up, it rolled really well. If it had been original paint he reckoned it wouldn't have cracked but it's had two resprays.

This is what NATIONAL tire centre in Colchester did to my new powder coated wheel......changing the tire, I wouldn't have minded so much but the "boy" hide it with black mastic and put it in my van for me so I didn't see it till I got home. I used to trust them.........and he fucked the inner tube as it was flat the next day!!!
Needless to say they are paying for it to be done again......

Mark, i bought the black bumpers from you a while ago. looking good on the road, out of curiosity what made yoy have a custom exhaust made? also curious to know what price a custom exhaust costs. dont worry if you dont want to say but just interested.

Hi David,
I had the exhaust made as I like to be different so didn't want one 'off the shelf' I love the look and sound of it and at £300 not that bad?! Stainless with a lifetime guarantee.
I hope your project is coming on? I just have to wrap mine and fit some new carpets when they turn up?!
All the best, mark.

Just because I was bored with the checkered roof and the fact I had some spare vinyl.....I thought I would see how well the wrap went before I do the whole car? The car body will be satin and the roof metallic black so the gloss blue wont stay on for long.....
