'67 Square continued.....
Re: '67 Square continued.....
Quite the collection you’ve got going on there...
You know you can drive that large fan pulley off by using two long bolts in the threaded bolts.
Just be careful what the bolts push against as it’ll crack the aluminium fan housing it you drive it straight into there. You need to spread the load.

Re: '67 Square continued.....
Outstanding plan!!!
I would prefer much prefer the plan where you buy my 944 front brake setup I already have machined and ready to fit onto a type 3 just waiting for a buyer

Not much to report, a lot of plans but none yet started.
However, the starter motor decided to pack up without warning a week or so ago. So an uprated unit was purchased and then fitted today.
Obviously made much harder by the diagnosis of a broken wrist, although the new starter is about half the weight of the original.
Old wrist.
New starter motor,
and installed. Whizzes the motor round on start up now. Very impressed
Chinese Bosch, but seems to be OK. I've had one similar on my bus with no issue.

Re: '67 Square continued.....
Have you got a new wrist on order too? How did you wear out the old one?

Re: '67 Square continued.....
No new wrists in stock, waiting 6 weeks for the old one to be refurbed.
Fell off a pair of steps.

Re: '67 Square continued.....
Aftermarket parts are shite, aren't they. These are supposed to be genuine Hella replacement lenses.

Re: '67 Square continued.....
Already let C & C know, sent pictures and have a refund coming.
They say they’ve never known any issues before.
Bearing in mind “all their products have been test fitted to staff vehicles”.
They obviously don’t own a type 3, as nearly all the type 3 parts I’ve bought don’t fit.
Re: '67 Square continued.....
Trip down to the workshop for a couple of little jobs.
Spot the difference.
Pair of Italian spec clear indicator lenses fitted along with the side marker/repeaters.
Fuse box cover
And a new door switch means the courtesy light works now.
Only little jobs I know, but it keeps my interest going until the gearbox/beam/brakes replacement gets underway, and I can make some room in the garage.

Re: '67 Square continued.....
Good to see you got some indicator lens' in the end. where did you get them from?
The sultan of swing
Re: '67 Square continued.....
Genuine Hella lenses from Italy, clear lenses are standard spec on cars there.
Re: '67 Square continued.....
Aye, i meant which company did you get them from, given your earlier issues with C n C

Re: '67 Square continued.....
I didn’t get them from a company. Italian eBay came to the rescue.
Re: '67 Square continued.....
Collected some of my imported parts today. Have to say I'm a bit frustrated that there's still stuff left in the States.
The parts were in a split bus that a friend bought, but due to not having any clear title the bus and the remainder of my parts inside have been impounded since March 2017.
Still, I think these will keep me busy for a while.

Re: '67 Square continued.....
Split hose or holed tank?
3 hours is a long time to get that off, what was stuck?

Yep, the sweets were spotted and devoured.
Re: '67 Square continued.....
Split hose under the tank.
Almost everything was stuck, the top balljoint was welded to the offside spindle as well.
