Well... the turbo is alive! I still need to lock out the distributor, add one more strut support for the carb/manifold, and make the throttle cable guide... but it is alive!

I used my n/a 009 to test fire it... it sure doesn't like firing off with only 5* of advance. Once if fired, and I could get back to the back of the car to work the throttle, it buzzed right up

However, the street avenger holley is kicking my butt on getting the float levels set. This is going to take some creative problem solving... the sight holes are directly over my alternator

I am excited that no oil seemed to be coming out the exhaust! There isn't much slope to my turbo's drain line, but it must be doing okay...

Well... I have found out that for the 1st time in 4 years, I won't be working this summer. I guess maybe the projects will finally all get attention again.

412 needs fuel lines replaced, FI wiring cleaned up, fuel pump change, master cylinder replaced and an engine degunking.
Speedster needs cooling system reworked and carbs put back on.
Squareback needs engine rebuilt... have most everything on the shelf!
Notchback needs the engine tuned and a final brake bleed.

I guess it will be some compensation for not working (with a team?).

Okay... so... apparently there is this "honey-do" list I also have to accomplish this summer. oigh! :) no big deal... i still will get car time!
i've pulled the turbo off the notch (the turbo needs rebuilt after only 10 minutes total run time) and put on carbs again. i have couple wiring gremilins to deal with and then it should be completely summer ready.
i'm going to start the rebuild of the squareback's engine next week... the raveges of 125,000+ miles on that engine should reveal some interesting things (74x90.5) as it was the engine I had to rebuild the top end on after just 4k miles (Insert the "I hate GEX engines" smiley here).
The speedster notch will start the complete transformation into a dedicated bracket car after the notch and square are roadworthy again. but... i have from this friday until mid-august to get to this point!

Correct. Going from 74x90.5 to 74x90 NPRs w/ stock valved heads. The are worked and should flow as well as the 041 39x32s that were on it.

For the 1st time in 7 years, the notch hood is out of primer. The color ended up not matching, but I got some practce wet sanding, buffing and polishing.

We all are - it's just a matter of how nuts. You must qualify in the top nut class. :-)

Today I scrapped a type 3. It was my 71 fasty I bought for the engine/trans after the middle had burned. It moved for the first time in 6 years today. Parts of it are in at least 7 cars I can think of! So today was a sad/happy day.

So, there they are! The auto pan and the 72 notch will become friends over the winter.
The 68 is going in the garage after i build a work bench and organize. I'm going to swap the FI engine to carbs, get the fuel pump swapped and see if it will fire off. If I can get it, I'll get me a new shop vac, wire wheel and get the pan cleaned up and ready.

Beige will slowly be making its way to runner. It will get the air ride and wheels from the Blue Bomb and the paint will get freshened. The top will also be getting a brown to go with the interior as I feel there is too much beige color. Anyway, this is the vision... thanks to John Jaranson.

It's traditional over here for old guys to have beige cars! it's pleasing to see it's becoming OK for youngsters too! For everyone else silver is good for normal driving and black for racers! Well, that's my opinion. You know what age-band I'm in!
