Note to self and anyone else........A scat dragfast shift does not fit straight into a 64 RHD notch

Fitted the stock one back in as after hours of messing about of it not fitting, looks like some filing etc would have been needed to get it to work properly. Not wanting to do that I put the stock one back in and spent a bit of time getting it all perfectly lined up. Now works better than ever before, so stock is staying.

If it aint broke dont fix it!

Why doesn't it fit then fella?? I fitted an NOS Hurst shifter in my 64. All went in nice and easy even though the reverse lock out doesn't often want to engage. The hardest part was drilling the tunnel and then screwing the chrome trim to hold the boot in place into the holes through the carpet.
You on the stand at Sandown?? You going up on the Friday night??
I've finally seen the light. Well, 2 lights, 2 6v lights on the front of a 64 Notch!!!!

Hello mate 8) it didnt like any of the gears and reverse was a no no  I think that they are slightly different to a hurst one, but after a good few hours no joy, so back in with the old. To be honest i prefer the look anyway ;)

I am going up early sat morn, but will be on The Old Volks Club stand clubstand around 8  and will be there sat & sun staying nearby on sat night at a travelodge 8) ;) Come over and say hi, we have a few type 3s this year ;) 8)

Had a bit of a polishing session this weekend got the old G3 out, thought that it would be a good idea to do it and give it all a nice protection of Caranuba wax as it is my daily hack after all.

Went from this.....

well.................

Firstly a Huge thanks to Jason @ Interpro for all his hard and skilled work! you have outdone yourself mate.

Here is why.

Ralph had a rolling road day yesterday @ Interpro to see what his new engine does at present. Turned up and Jase got straight to work although within seconds we noticed that that morning the rear brake cylinder had bust! so it was on the phone and 2 new ones being sent urgently!

Anyway, a cheeky oil change and mini service of all the points, tappets etc and the old boy was ready.

First run was 90bhp @ 100mph ....straight out of the box! Jase had only tuned it by ear and it was almost perfect! somebody knows what he is doing me thinks! Anyway a few more runs and...............

Here is the last and best run (not going all out mind you as it has a bit more).........

Image

and the score on the door is.........

Image

Yup! Thats 93BHP at a total speed of 104mph, blimey he is quick! Look back at the vid and see how quick he gets up to that 104mph! its mad. How glad am i that i have new brakes all round!!!

Can you guess that I am happy?!
