Re: project 72 fastty
That floor is fantastic, looks as good as OEM stuff, if the car wasn't so obviously a custom job that would look like its just rolled off the production line

Re: project 72 fastty
cheers ,
transmission tunnel now done.
and now on with the bulkhead panel,
and the rear coilovers came this week so there is some brackets to make to mount them to the chassis.

Re: project 72 fastty
would not say that but im getting there,
made all the mounting brackets for the seats over the last few days so i was able to bolt in the mazda mx5 seats in.
really wanted to get the floors all welded in this week but i need to weld in the bottom seat belt mount first as with the floors in i wont be able to weld it fully, i have ordered them but they wont be here till the end of the week.
more soon

Re: project 72 fastty
been a very busy few days, had a list of bits that wanted doing before i could cut it from the jig.
all floors done, body mounts done, seat belts done, front shock mounts done, rear shock mounts done and primered the front wings.
with the list done i cut it from the jig and sat it on its wheels.
looks really good and the stretched front wings really stand out now.
ground clearance is 5" under the centre of the car but it still sits very low to the roof line.
going to take it all apart on sunday and then reassemble it back on the floor and i cant wait.

Re: project 72 fastty
thanks for the comments,
got the body off today and sat the chassis on the floor on its wheels and bolted the engine and box in it, it all sits as planned so i could not be more happy.
and while the body is off i thought i may as well weld up the body mounts.
bit of work to do on the body before i bolt it back on.

Re: project 72 fastty
cheers jmarkha 1,
got the inner sills welded this week so managed to bolt the body on the chassis this weekend to see how it looks.
fassty sits how i wanted, nice and low but unlike a lowered vw it still has 5"of clearance under the chassis.
on with the steering column this week and then its the foot controls.
more soon.

Re: project 72 fastty
thanks,
been on with the dash and the rear bumper over the last few days, heres some pics.
still need to sort the ends of the dash so that it bolts in and the bumper needs the ends cutting off so i can tuck them in nice and close to the body.
moor soon.

This will be indistinguishable from the real thing unless it happens to be parked alongside one!
