love the concept of a blown torquey motor like with rear drive.

Re: project 72 fastty
thanks.
finally got chance to do a bit more this week, got on with making a rover v8 to mazda rx8 gear box adaptor and today i was able to bolt them together.
also got it sat in the fast back.
it still wants lining up in the correct position but it,s one step closer. heres a pic of a full side on
i think the stance is pretty spot on.

Re: project 72 fastty
got one of the rear wishbone jigs done today and laid it out with some cds tubing
the reason im making my own is the standard ones look horrid and are hard work to narrow as the rear axle needs to be 11" shorter than stock to fit under the fassty with the 10" wide rear wheels.

Re: project 72 fastty
Continue to love it, i assume they arent handed so you can use the same jig for both sides?

Re: project 72 fastty
no i need a left and right hand jig.
bit of a long day but i did manage to get the other wishbone jig done so tomorrow i can hopefully get them built.
.
even though its a lot of work building the jigs i need them as i intend to do more projects using the same set up so it makes it easier down the line.

Oh my giddy aunt.......this is awesome . Respect sir.
Re: project 72 fastty
That thing is wild! are you going to make it like a dragster with a full removable front? or will it be a tube frame section which the panels fasten on to in a more traditional style?

Re: project 72 fastty
been waiting for some parts to arrive and now there here i can crack on with the build.
first thing to do was mock up the bulkhead so it would give me an idea of where stuff is going to fit.
cut out the dash to give me access so i could put in a support bar to mount the brake servo and steering column.
from here i built the support bar.
next i made up the brackets that the brake servo would mount to. get this welded up tomorrow.
the support bar will also be the mount for a corsa b electric steering column.
will order all the steel sheet i need to make the bulkhead and all the floors on monday so im hoping to move the project along in the next few weeks.
