How are you going to narrow the torsion bars? They're 5/8" thick spring steel and have splined ends!

started to mod floorpan to except narrowed beam.can see why it has not been done before,a lot of work but i feel worth the effort.should ride a lot better than the type 1 beam.also going to change from a stearing box to a rack.have not even got into the mods needed to put the body back on ,it looks a lot but should be a cool ride when done.got to order a bottom bearing for the beam as wrecked one when taking them out for blasting.hoping to have the wheels back on by next weekend.willpost some pics through the week.

I'm just getting to the beam on mine, seriously considering narrowing after this!! didn't fancy the T1 frame head and beam conv, too much expense, but uber tempted by this method!! Cheers for the pics! much appreciated! 8)

the last pic is were i have welded in boxed in sections under the top skins for added strength.i have done this top and bottom.im going to put a load of pics on my myspace site to show just how much work has to be done.www.myspace/blacktopcustomsuk.in the mean time heres some more pics, these show how the wheels now sit in the arches(not at ride height as it needs tubbing)and how the beam sits in the petrol tank space(as my beam is also raised 2" on the pan).ImageImageImage

blimey, has it been that long.time just goes nowhere.me and a couple of mates were pondering over me fastback the other day.not really done much to it as have got sidetracked on a project for the misses(she likes her cars to)thats not far of being done so will have a bit more time for the fastty.would love to get it done over the winter ready for next year.the biggest stumbling block are the floor pans.not sure weather to buy some or make my own, i will decide when i get back on it.looks like there is some really good projects on here, cant wait to get stuck into mine again.will keep you posted.
