Image
Image
then it was time to brace up the inside of the shell ready for cutting.
Image
to make way for the new chassis and to be able to put a v8 up front the bulkhead and the inner wings are being cut out along with all the inner structure in the rear.

Angelo Amato,
yeah its kind of a demo run for the universal chassis i have designed, putting one under the fassty and a mate of mine is also putting one of my chassis under under his ford prefect project. iron out any problems with them and hopefully next year i might be able to sell a few.
broady,
it is nice to start with a solid shell , to be cut up this much so you can build it just the way you want with no compromises. there will be lots of stuff going on with the project over the next few weeks , just ordered a few bits for the engine, the chassis jig wants building and the shell needs setting up on the jig once its done so im going to be very busy.

before building the fassty i needed a jig to build it on and after many sleepless nights i came up with this.
Image
Image
Image
it can be moved around on the castors and leveled up on the adjustable feet for building, result .

with the jig done i can now get on with building the chassis this week.

cheers guy,s
i am finally making a little progress, got the body sat on the chassis jig.
Image
Image
still got to fix it to the jig but i cant do that untill i have stretched the front wings about 6" so i can sort the front chassis. with the wings being stretched i have to move the front wheels forward 6" aswell so it,s all going to take a bit of thinking about.

the reason im stretching the front wings is i want to give the fassty the pro mod look, did this quick sketch to give you an idea of were im going with this project.

more later in the week

that is awesome as ever, not wanting to piss on your chips. Just wanting to make you aware so you can make your voice heard.

https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... safety.pdf

4.11 We are proposing that for kit cars, compliance with the MOT emissions standards current at the date of registration will be required, despite the use of an older engine. In other words the current relaxation for emissions according to the age of the engine will no longer apply.

4.12 Reconstructed (restored) classic cars undergoing IVA will not be required to meet the latest MOT standards, as long as the appearance of the vehicle is broadly unchanged and the engine is of the same capacity as that supplied with the vehicle when it was new

I dont know which if either if those it could fall into. Just write them a letter telling them to sod off and sort out the real gas emitters

yep all in hand , car will have to go through the BIVA test.
the worst part of the test is the windows, these have to be e43 marked so the standard glass wont pass.

once i had worked out how i was going to stretch the front wing i just cut it, made a filler panel and tacked it all up.

with the wheels mocked up in place it gives a good idea to how it,s going to look.

really like how it looks, just need to get on with the rest of it.
