Airbox repair
Repairing the airbox on late cars is pretty much standard fare in my experience.
This one was only showing slight bubbling under the bonnet, but on investigation the panel behind the dash, where the airbox fits was totally rotten.
I drilled out the spotwelds and cut out the rotten bits then made a new panel for the airbox attachment and then made a new top which i welded in. The results are not concours but i'm not a pro, hopefully it wont rain in again.
Heres some more snaps.
Initial rot removal
A bit more

How did you get the 944/924 rev counter to fit in the smaller hole?!?!!
I'm using a 924 speedo in the main speedo hole, and my deal included a rev counter as well, but it seemed too big to fit in the smaller holes in the left and right of the dash. I've just sold the rev counter!
Here is what mine looks like...

Tacho and fuel gauges installed by using a stanley knife, shears and a file. in other words i cut the holes bigger. as the dash has now been recovered it hides any mods.
I'm going to use the water temp gauge as an oil temp gauge.
Clever eh.
I'm on with the front suspension clean up now, more pix later.
