had a bit of a crash on with the square the last few weeks and finally finnished all the welding on the passenger side under rear seat and over the rear arch and also the outer arch to wing . got it all rust treated then red leaded and then stone chipped and painted it body colour .
Image
been great cracking on after its been sat for 6 years !!!!
finally got the rear wing on its a fibreglass one unfortunately and not the best fit but it at least gets the car on the road again .
Image
last pic i have for the minute is one of the front of the car bit dusty and grubby but looks ok on the wheels .
Image
will post the other pics as i crash on . :)

Hi Innocenti.

Fantastic Square, looks really nice, love the colour (is it Gulf Blue ?). I had the same problem with my Fasty, DVLA registered as a 69 when she is actually a 67. I approached VW UK who sent out an E-mail questionaire and wanted it filled in and a fee of £50 ! Could not belive how much the wanted for a Heritage letter to prove age. If you are a paid up member you could try to approach the Editor. Dave The Editor very kindly came to my rescue and did a letter for me which the local VRO accepted and issued me with a new reg number.

Hope that helps.

All the best

Chris

Hi all
Cheers for the comments . I will have a word with the editor to see if he can help me out with the dating document for the chassis no . I aggree I will look a lot better just got a swerve on getting it ready for this year .
Foxy your right it was Malvern 04 before the little one was born , that was also the list time I took the Ghia out !!!!!!!!! As the square was sat behind it in the garage .
Cheers for the good vibes though .

easy to sort this plate thing without paying anybody here in the UK...

when you click the link below it will take you to the birth certificate generator.....
its in english until u reach credit card payment but easy to follow..
weve had quite a few members in our local club do it and with 6 weeks their cert lands on the doormat
they take it to their local dvla office and are issued there and then a new plate....

cost is around 35 euros.

I nearly bought a car with 69 plates and it was a 65....spoke to dvla here who confirmed that this
process was all that was needed to get the correct age related plates...
good luck

The letter from a club official seems to work too - you don't get the certificate though, which is nice to have. I've done quite a few free for club members, but mostly they were for the production date so they could claim historic vehicle class and avoid road tax.

Hi Dave
Would it be possible to do one for my 68 square if I forwarded the chassis no ? It's been given a j reg as was the norm back then when vehicles were imported in that year . It would be nice to have it on black plates for stanny hall if I get my finger out .
Not sure how long Dvla take to issue a new reg no ?
Cheer in advance steve

Steve

If you take the letter or certificate to the DVLA VRO, there is likely to be one in your county town, if they are happy they issue you with a reg number there and then, they alter your MOT and Will take your V5 and send you a new one, they also give you a V19 (I think) which you take to your number plate provider when you purchase. I had my new plates on in three days.

All the best
