There are two of those, both LH I think, in the stash of parts that PurplePete is handling. Good Veng repair panels (boxes).

Re: 71 rhd square 49k 2 owner
okay this is the floor that was patched up by the previous owner...
because im designing a whole new floor with NO heater channels ive got to alter this side to match too...
look at this shit ive cut out lol
and when it was off it didnt leave much lol
so i welded a new piece in that will sit underr the sill
heres the sill just propped on to show what it will look like when welded
i then had these 'fake' heater channels made by a good buddy 1.5mtr long with exact measurements to the ones i cut out
and heres the floor from the fasty that will soon be going in
and finally the inner curve arch requires all new pieces and will be getting 2 of these made up later today by the same good buddy
so the floor will have the sills and heater channels just no tube in the middle and no heat fron the back.
the floor itself will be attached to the heater channels so yes its all connected but this is my design on a budget and it will not suit everyones taste but trust me it will be awsum!

Re: 71 rhd square 49k 2 owner
things are starting to really take shape now and it shouldnt be many more days until ive got the dreaded floor almost back in..
the sills both sides are fully welded in.
popped to see my good buddy with that piece from the inner front arch and with his machine press and roller we created exact replicas for that area...i made slighty bigger so i can trim to fit...this will be done anyday as soon as the rain fuks off!!!!
and whilst i was cramped in the footwell i also bare metalled the front came up sweet!
and those 1.5mtr long replica heater channels i had made??
they look great!!
just gotta trim em up front when i weld the front inner arch so i can then weld it all together for a snug fit!
so next to do is the inner front arches....weld the drivers side floor that i robbed from a 71 fasty...then build the rear floor up around the springplates. once the floor is all complete i will start slamming it

Re: 71 rhd square 49k 2 owner
ok so im well pleased how well this donor floor from a fasty 71 went in....
it looks all in but it isnt yet....
theres a gap between the edge of the floor and the underneath of the channels and sill.
my intentions are to weld a sheet in the same length as the sill and create a small
'step' up to the sill lip and then bend the sill lip upto the channel and 'nip' the floor
edge into this if that makes any sense...
fotos will show you what i mean when i do it this coming week.
also got the lower corner edges in
Ive also the hole at the pedals welded in nice but havent taken a foto yet.
plans for next week are the floor edged like i said to meet the channels and then
i must start the rear floor and build this up.

Re: 71 rhd square 49k 2 owner
well I saw my good bud again and got these lovely sheets
of galv...these are the edges of the floor and the lip will weld to the
sill lip which ive completed 50% on the driver side and its come
out better than expected! no pics tho yet
I also used up the wire i got with the welder which i never knew the make...
when i started using the Clarke flux i was amazed how much better it
welded!! So ive ground some of the first welding i did and gone over it
with the new stuff so things are lookin better
also got the piece in under the pedals and welded underneath

You're welding the body to the floorpan then? Maybe that's your only option.

a big job..
I want to create a totally one off resto that will be like marmite...
its great fun and this way will make sure i keep it for years rather than a few months

Re: 71 rhd square 49k 2 owner
so its toooooo cold to do welding etc
but it hasnt stopped me getting in the garage and doin tittyvation jobs that
will require doing sooner rather than later!!
sanded back and hammerited the front bumper hangers and also the
front impact crumple bar...came up nice if i say.... ;D
also managed to wire drill and brush the inners of both bumpers so they
are ready for a good coating too whe i buy some more hammerite

Re: 71 rhd square 49k 2 owner
okay it was mild this morning wasnt it!! 3 deg!! fekkin scorchin compared to
past week eh!!
anyway so i took advantage of our mild day and managed to get the driver door
off so i could smooth out the weld edges only to uncover this lovely hole which
looked effall until i prodded it....anyway its sorted!
the next 2 pictures show the drivers floor that ive rebuilt right back
to the battery tray and ive yet to build that area up hence the weather delays!
tiger seal is the next job following the primer ive just applied....
its starting to look like a squareback!

Re: 71 rhd square 49k 2 owner
That's more distinguished than silver - everyone seems to have silver if it's not black. i couldn't believe how bright our '70s Type 3s looked parked out in front of the local VW garage compared with the depressingly dark or boring silver of the modern ones, last November (I don't include Larry and Lin's Anthracite one as boring!). Oh no, there is a blue one!

Re: 71 rhd square 49k 2 owner
okay well i can gladly say that perseverence has finally paid off!!
for the last 3 months nearly everyday ive managed to get 30 mins - 2hours in on the square and totally rebuilt the floor, front inner arches, all four wheel arches, front spare wheel tray, heater channels (fake) and whilst its been damn hard ive loved it!!
I can finally see the finishing line but still plenty to do...
first pics are proof that ive tiger sealed all the welding which ill primer over soon before painting
heres the rear offside lower corner
who'd have thought it...lol
welded and sealed
