quick up date with pictures, managed to get both rear windows and front screen in last night,

ordered a few more parst from status vw tonight, all the door gubbins i need, bit of a let down they didnt have in in stock otherwise i could had had it pretty much built this weekend!

its been a few weeks since iv posted, but iv got all the doors built, bonnet and boot fitted and lined up almost right, all new carpet glued in most interior panels in except p/s doorcard which is in 2 pieces! ( anyone got a spare??) all lights in and wired, just need door mirrors and wiper arms now oh and washer bottle connecting,

got small shocks to go on front, had to raise rear to 1 outer spline, spring plate was hitting the shock towers, but i may change that with the grinder and some engineering! ill post some pics at the weekend.

finally got round to uploading some photos, all painted, and built up, waiting for my smartcar tyres and lowered shocks for the front to arrive on monday, then registration times!

forgot to add, the empi 8's were borrowed to see if the tyre size was any good, but turns out i quite like them, so i might save up for some !

still waiting on my short shocks to appear, but in the mean time i ordered some retro cool wooden bead seat covers odd ebay to hide the tatty seats for now, bargin at a tenner each!

finally shocks came this week, so insured it yesterday (friday) and mot time today, so i get the car out the garage, leave it running (all be it a it lumpy) go but all the bike back in and lock the garage up, jump back in the car go to pull away it gives a cough splutter and dies, and wont start again! typical, now the batterys dead so thats on charge while i sit and sulk with a cuppa coffee.

urned out to be a duff plug, an it was a brand spanker

Your Fastback looks fab (Empi 8's look great). Had one or two new duff plugs before not something you expect really, although I do remember getting warned not all new plugs are good when I just started driving (quite a time ago). Good luck with MOT

passed the mot not problems at all, just a advusory on an oil leak (main outputshaft seal gone hard and unbedded over time) but by the time i got home it sorted itself.
sent all my registration forms off last night so hopefully in a week or so i can actually drive it legally!

woot woot, finally registered this morning, back on its original reg MPH851L just have to wait for my tax disc to come through the post till i can drive it!

you dont need the tax disc, as long as you have applied for it and it is in the post you are road legal

They give 5 days for the disc to be displayed - since it's all centrally held info, I guess the police know you're OK anyway.

all sorted now! turned up tuesday along with all my other documents ( i left a not asking not to fold my pristine birth certificate for the car, low and behold they folded it!!) never mind its only paper!
