1962 notchback MFF 912

Post by Thefiend62 » 10th November 2012 - 11:44pm

Can anyone shed any light on where this car originally came from as I'm trying to find out

I do believe the reg of the car was something different when it first came into the country
But sadly I don't know what it is or was sadly

Many thanks Matt

You can send the chassis number off to the Stiftung VW Museum in Wolfsburg and they will send you a birth certificate which tells you where the car was first sent from the factory, plus other details about the car. It costs 50 Euros: http://automuseum.volkswagen.de/index.php?id=12&L=1 .

If MFF 912 is available to transfer, you would probably make a mint selling it, and getting an age-related one in its place!

Shame about the plate not being original, as you can't sell it on, but it's not a bad one to have.

I took these at Detling, not sure of the year - mid to late 90's at a guess.
