I'd love to but I think cash is going to be a big problem, my Notch resto is taking a lot of my funds at the mo :(

Years ago I tried to find out if there were any funding sources that might be available to meet help overseas Type 3 owners, but organisations such as the English Speaking Union don't involve themselves with such activities. I found we could get travel grants from the European parliament to see them working (I guess just to prove politicians do something!) but not for anything useful!

that looks superb Danny! I'm just deciding whether to paint my Fasty with wings on or off, is there a preference what with the wing beading and stuff?

Advice I've seen is to hang them on for topcoat(s) so the paint gets in between the gap. Probably better to prime them off the car. It depends on whether the beading is new or needs matching paint. I think you need a flexible additive in the paint for use on plastic. Not sure how you manage that with it in place. I guess it depends on whether you want to win a top concours event.

Took my '63 down to the Apex festival this weekend at Lydden hill here in Kent, all the car's that were in the show and shine were allowed to parade around the track............

Image

this morning, I left the show to head up to the Cannonball 89 cruise, a VW treasure hunt from Thurrock Lakeside services to Karmann Konnection in Southend in Essex, but unfortunately my oil light came on, I topped it up but it still kept leaking oil so had to turn round and come home :(

Excellent stuff!

Air vent covers look interesting, may help to defend the single drain hole design in the current down-poor that we call summer! :)
