**Update time!**
Right then, been busy on the notch.
First job was get the old boy up in the air, handy when you have access to one of these!
Then it was wings off (not rot atall and no seized bolts!!!weird!)
Beam coming out.
Then its wheel well out and get happy with the grinder as there had been some shoddy repairs to the front bumber mounts and inner & outer valance.
all cut out and ready for bumper mount repair panels to go in
Next up was to clean and sort my track rods. New joints in and all copper slipped up.
Cleaned up the steering box and cleaned out old oil and replaced with new and all is ready to roll! Took out the steering coupling and found that it was split 90% of the way through!
New one now fitted and bumper mounts fitted, just got to adapt the new beam (bumper mounts being removed and the tow eye taken off ) and its new beam, brakes etc back in and the front end is finished (hopefully by the end of today )

Spent another day on the notch, with the usual few problems I had 2 bolts shear off from the old spindles which took ages drilling and picking out cut off the bump stops and towing eye for lowering purposes Sorted out temporary ride height and packed beam full of grease.
Put in new steering coupling and sorted out steering box and all wired up again, just got steering arms and damper to go back and nearly there
New beam in!
steering, good as new

Been busy on the notch Me and Jase (the quality vw dood from Interpro) have been finishing things off.
So its, gearbox back in and height adjusted.
All welding finished and wings put back in.
Brakes sorted and bled and all renewed. so front end....done!
I also had time to take the orig washer bottle apart and the hand pump (not stock) mech apart to look at why it was rubbish. Needed a good clean and new pipes etc and now works like a charm
Engine is being put together as we speak Heads ported and polished by end of play today and its on!! also managed to get a refurbed oil cooler from the states to add to the list of engine bits Should all be finished by the first week of November just got to order that stainless exhaust header and we are finished.............hopefully!

Getting there on the engine build
Got to fit the dizzy and a few odds and ends. plus the new high torque starter motor and of course some of these and its good to go!
This is how the engine is at the moment
Have just sorted a complete type 3 custom stainless exhaust and header system, so once that turns up it will be rolling road time and MOT!
Getting exciting now

Massive boo from me!
After the notch being all ready for an MOT the following happened.
After testing the car for a good few miles, it has a problem......... it wont stay in 2nd! after endless amounts of adjusting etc, it still wont stay in. (comes out on reving and when driving along) To cut a long story short, engine out and the gearbox is now waiting to be collected and sent back to the builder...............not a happy bunny!
Oh well should all be sorted and back with me in a few days, so until then will have to enjoy looking at my new rev counter! All fitted and works like a charm plus ive now got my original brake pads relined so will fit them next week.
