Front Bump Stop rotted out

Post by Stuart Sepple » 14th July 2010 - 2:41pm

Any tips for repairing it on a Late Type 3? Will prob. have to find someone else to do it as too busy at moment to even clean the poor thing!

hi stuart. has the knob that holds the rubber bung rotted off, or is the rot a bit more extensive? a pic would be a good idea of that area. i've repaired quite a few of these as they are in the firing line of all the moisture. if you can find a dead beam you could saw the truntion off it and weld it onto yours. if its just the button bit i can make that easy enough. i'm in chatham so not that far from you.

Hi Steve,
will get a photo at the weekend. I have some new Rubbers I picked up a while ago, in the garage, that I think, are attached to truntion sections, will check those out as well

hi stuart. well that doesn't look all that bad from here. if the beam is in sound condition then just replace the buttons that hold the rubber bit.
don't know where in s london you are but i'm in chatham. i could do it if you like. let me know.

Just one, the lower one on the passenger side, the others look fine to me. Approx. how much do you charge?

Thanks
Stuart
