Great thing is almost all of it is not visible when the body panels go back on.
Also bigger holes don't take much more work than little ones - just a bit more sheet metal to fill the hole!

Re: 71 rhd square 49k 2 owner
ok not the neatest welding awards but im happy and its job done!
all these area are hidden by the wings and carpets so i wont be wasting time grinding the welds flat!
this is the underneath of the rear arch
ive double skinned the arch wall...about quarter inch between 2 plates

Re: 71 rhd square 49k 2 owner
just a small update...last few days what time ive had ive had to chop even more rot out...
Ive got a good buddy making me a full heater channel with the 3 sides...
im gonna chop the floor i got from the fasty so its literally just the floor and then take the seat runner and attach it to the new heater channel.
I havent worked out and if im gonna create the floor and heater channel join as it should be or create my own design...the passenger side floor where it joins the heater channel is pretty shagged too so i rek ill create a whole custom look with the floor and channels...might be good might not but hey ho we shall see!
and ive also found that the end of the chassis tunnel up at the pedal area is rotten too!
but thats easy fix cos it needs a small plate welding in to seal it up.
both the rears of the floor sections are totally fekked too...got some nice fresh 1.2mm coming for them areas next week.
wow i never imagined this square could be sooooooo rotten but im enjoyin it mucho!
at least the front ends done and 1 rear arch!

Re: 71 rhd square 49k 2 owner
okay so its been more chopping rot the past few days so tomorrow monday i can begin welding some fresh new metal into the gaps you see here...
its dead annoying when you chop a piece and realise that theres more then more then more lol..
but its gotta get done so on it goes...
the rear n/s arch isnt as bad as the o/s was so good news there...just a case of welding less metal i suppose...
should be seeing the hand made heater channel arrive next week so once thats in place i can start the arduous task of getting the fasty floor in then it will start to seem like the finishing line is in sight!
oh and when i turned it round on the road i thought this first pic was pretty awesome...shows both wings done but sill missing and the bit near the spring plates but gotta wait 4 that bit cos want the channel on first

Re: 71 rhd square 49k 2 owner
next pain the fiddly edges and corners but these are hidden by the wings so im not paying too much attention to detail but it will have fresh metal and do the job
