Brian's Type 3's

How are you getting on with the engine cover (sorry, carbon fiber deck-lid), Brian?

Oh, and I'll see if Steve can come up with an avatar for you - the pink and blue Notch maybe.

dave, you and your lovely bride could pilot the estate for the Invasion weekend if you would rather drive an automatic! or, you could pilot one of the squarebacks... your choice.

Oregon 2006

Post by Editor » 3rd August 2005 - 12:09pm

Hi Brian,
Err, me drive a Type 4? Well, I have driven one before, on a farm in Kent (the UK spiritual home of the Type 4). We had some reversing game with a long farm trailer. I think it went OK.
I've found another Type 4 owner in Oregon - Jim Denton. I've passed your details to him.
Dave.

Yet another Type 4?

Post by Editor » 2nd September 2005 - 12:10am

So, what does Shannon think of that? I guess she's too busy with the little one to notice. I had as similar rash of buying some years ago - now I've sold one (camper) and scrapped another (Polo), but bought a newer Polo to replace it as my Gopher. It looked a mess, was cheap, but looks much better with a polish and some sorting out of things other owners leave broken!

I'm still saving up for 2006. Anyone else here want the trip of a lifetime to the USA?

Looks tidier than the one the young guy had at your BBQ, Brian. Is it nice and solid or thick with filler?

it is not full of filler, but it is not near nice either. picctures are deceiving!

i am also picking up a spare set of front and rear springs for the 412 this saturday. i am going to cut them down and install them to lower the car, but keep the originals in case i don't like the result.

oh, and i have a 2110 to put into my purple notch as well as an IRS conversion so that the rear can be low and not look like it is broken!

You should fabricate a metal sheel in your engine compartment to isolate the hot air from underneath so that it won't be sucked by te type one engine. :D
