Dutch 412 Variant, in VW Ultra!!
Hi all, after a short introduction, I've started this Thread to keep you posted on our 412 project, we already started in 2009.
We bought the car in Belgium, in 2008, and stored it for a year, due to other projects.
In 2009 we rolled it into our barn, it came without engine...
Previous owner cut a huge hole in the front:
Even removing parts, such as a fender turned out te be a big discovery. What a difference with a beetle!!
Disaster:
Pffff:
check out the anti-roll-bar mounting:
Under the bodywork even more rust...
Me welding:
She grinding:
And grinding, and welding, and grinding, and grinding........
And welding, and........

Re: Dutch 412 Variant
Great work here good job. But are you spraying 2 pack paint without an air feed mask? Rather you than me.

My old mask was broken, I already have a new one. This was an emergency
Re: Dutch 412 Variant
Brilliant work! Enjoyed looking through the pictures Thankyou for sharing
Re: Dutch 412 Variant
I always use 2pk paint without an air fed mask, it's a good 3M one though and I'm still here alive and well
great project by the way! I wish my missus was as enthusiastic as yours when it comes to helping out, she like the end product but has no interest what so ever when it comes to restoring cars

Re: Dutch 412 Variant
Tnx, guys!!
My other (good) mask isn't air fed, but the filters are much better than a cheap-ass dust mask
As I'm lookin' back through all those pictures, I wonder what I was thinking to restore a car as bad as thisone... at this point, I'm very glad we did. We already bought an oldtimer caravan for our next summer holydays!!
The caravan is on 13" steelies, so it also has work to do
I'll sort out some more pics for you guys. The project is lookin' better and better already!!
