Re: NEW PROJECT
hi there and welcome.... got any pictures of this 'pearler' ?
wenn es nicht luftgekühlt ist, dann ist es nicht cool
Re: NEW PROJECT
Not sure if this works but tried to upload some pics of her. She is in the paint shop at the minute which is why she is in bits

Yeah like marko said. It looks like a great starting platform. But having said that I've learnt that thee ol type 3 is great at hiding a few secrets if you go digging deep. Best of luck with the project.
You Love It.!!!
Re: NEW PROJECT now with pics
I found one of the hiding places today, I took the airbox out and seen the hole was not the rectangle it is suppose to be.It has gone a tad rusty and its more a round hole now.
Does anyone know if there is a way of fixing this problem or what the normal procedure for this is.
Cheers....

Usually the airbox shaping under the bonnet is rusted out. The drain tray has a deep lip all round the opening for the air to get into the plastic airbox, to stop water getting into the box itself. I've heard someone did repair the tray from underneath, but really it's hard enough to do it from above without working upside down!
Really the bulkhead top has to be cut off, neatly enough to be able to invisibly get it back on again. I used a wide hacksaw blade and worked that round on the Fastback. Then you can get in to remove the rust and replace it. It's easier said than done.

Cheers Dave, Ill go and look at it for a couple of hours and scratch my head a lot and try and work it out.
I think it is possible to repair from the underneaf but it wont get all the rust out,(my hands are cut to shreds trying) and certainly wont get the paint in. Its gonna be the bulk head off. Thanks for in info.
