Well, it looks like the potential buyer from Cambridge has fallen through, so I'm slowly spending money on restoring the bits that need it, to get me through Winter, I'm getting to the point where I won't be selling, no matter what. Amazing to me as I never thought it would grow on me, but as its now my daily driver I'm getting far too attached to it.

The heating works well, which is surprising, having only ever suffered poor heating in a Beetle, starts first time every time, not using any oil on the original engine, just turned a genuine 99,000 on the speedo. Just had new M&S rear tyres on newly powder coated rears in matt black, and the fronts are away for the same treatment, £20 a wheel (have to prepare yourself), £10 to have a new tyre fitted and balanced, and £54.50 for a new tyre from MyTyres online, I thought that was cheap at £84.50 a corner!!!

As soon as the Historic Vehicle Tax starts in April, I'll be putting the 412 LS on the road as well.

I've got the 3 and 4, just need the lottery win for the type 2 and Beetle, ha.

Anyone seen this video on YouTube before? I didn't think there was enough space to fit a flat six in a 412?

If only money was no object eh?

There's been a very poor response, and with the price nearly doubling (following Vistaprint taking on TV adverts) I don't feel it's worth it this year. Sorry.

Really to make this work, the photos need to be original or with permission to copy, something like 4 x 3 (about 2,000 x 1,500 pixels or more) to get the right shape for the calendar, reasonably well exposed and 13 useable. About 2 satisfied those criteria this year, out of about 7 sent - most trawled from various websites!

We need to organise a few Regional Events to meet up as a club, through the Summer, that way, anyone with the right camera could snap a host of different models, from daily drivers to showroom condition.

Are there so few of us that this isn't possible?

I got a reasonable choice for last year's calendar. There were a couple of main problems - the shape of the image for the calendar needs to be 4x3 rather than the 'widescreen' image that seems to be getting popular. That's not a problem if there is spare each side of the subject to trim. The other problem is that anything on the web tends to be too low resolution (too few dpi). Considering that almost all cameras these days have enough resolution for these calendars, it's probably mainly a tendency to transfer at a smaller dpi to suit social media needs.

For some reason they were not forthcoming this year. Vistaprint have greatly increased their prices - I always wondered what was financing the good prices...

It would be nice to have some action shots too, I don't suppose there's anyone rallying in a Type 3 or Type 4 these days, ha.

Lots of gravel and mud going sideways with a 40+ year old T3 or T4 broad sliding in full rally regalia...I wonder...

The rallying Fastback would be fine as a larger image - need a bit trimmed off sides, but there's non-essential stuff there.

I don't think it can be expanded, as a web image it was only 96dpi to begin with, you can generally get away with web images of about 150dpi.

Right, I'm off out to the pub for a meal and drink, still waiting for my Rally Sponsor, don't leave it too long boys, ha

That seems to be 19KB and 400x300, so right aspect ratio but no good for resolution (ie the actual pixel size needs to be around 1600 x 1200 min).

Maybe try again for next year.

Most of them! There's a nice one of a red Squareback from the USA, the snow scene above and a nice cabrio Type 4 prototype, but that's not the right shape for the calendar without a fair bit of generated infill.

Maybe 2015. With luck and tolerance from Anne, I'll have some from the USA Invasion near Niagara to fill in for any others that are offered.
