Penetrating oil or diesel is much better than WD40 for freeing off rusty bits

Re: '67 Square continued.....
I dealt with a seized one recently, on Dereks Razor
Wire brush the exposed ends, make sure you've removed the circlips at each end, then a little gentle heat/not so gentle swearing & copious whallops with a hammer
Measure the cooler galleries & let me know- I have a couple of spares with diff size galleries

OK, thanks Peter.
I removed the circlips and washers and administered copious wallops earlier after dosing with WD40.
Didn't know whether heat would be OK, but I'll try that tomorrow.

At risk of stating the obvious, You can wire brush the spindle at the back of the housing too
First having ascertained that it's a 12V fanhousing!

My oh my! Well im glad you're on the mend! I hadnt realised you were so ill. Its nice to hear from you again.
The only thing I have to add, its be careful with the hitting as the fan housing is ally and will crack easily, as im sure you know yours already looks to have suffered a bit of corrosion. Ive use mole grips before and super crack ultra from euro car parts. Its a graphite penetrating spray. The name is a literal translation from German. Im not setting you up

Yes, I'm taking the softly softly approach and using grips to work the shaft back and forward.
No success so far though.

Well, I appear to have a running engine again.
It's been quite frustrating really. Wrong parts supplied, right parts supplied but damaged and a saga with GSF about clutches....
Oh, and now this.
A slight timing and clutch adjustment to do tomorrow , fit a breather and then a good clean.
Next on the list is to have a go at the handbrake and fit the proper dynamo.

Engine case and parts still at machinists, that will be a year today....
Hopefully can collect all the parts next week and send it off for building, then swap the gearbox and axles.

1.5 bar on idle doesn't look too shabby if that's a hot engine
Your engine looks very blue, but are you sure you want a fuel filter there ?

It came out of a buggy, and it's not warmed up there.
It's only temporary though, so I can actually use the car rather than it just sit by the kerb rotting away.
When the stroker engine is finally built I'm fitting an electric pump under the tank and redo all the pipework and filters.

Yep, snow foam works a treat on 12 months worth of grime and bird sh*t.
