Type 3 clocks

Post by broady_6 » 10th February 2019 - 10:14pm

Are there different clock body lengths? I have never been able to get my clock to push far enough in for the springs to click. The fuel gauge pod works just fine. The speedos a bit tough, but dies click. The clock seems to be about 10mm too long. Any clues?

My clock is the same and never goes into place properly, and therefore loses time because the springs earth the body.
I don't know about different clock bodies though.

I never push mine back in properly, as its a pain to get out again!

I measured 2 this afternoon for You- Both 77mm from front face of bezel to back of mechanism- didn't measure the further protrusion of the spade terminal though. 1 was fasty's, T'other came out of Dave's squareback MUM

I've got a grey face red needle jobby, that I'll measure next time it jumps out at me

Ta very much, its nice to know that no ones fits!

I think I may need to trim the spring clips on mine as theyre gettting on for 10mm too long, and it will drive me mad knowing its not secure. Although the other two can be tricky to remove. I know I can get them out. Though after all this work I dont plan to have to remove them very often :D
