Re: Where to begin

I would say go through the fuel system first- inspect everything, clean out the tank, replace filters & fuel hoses Whilst the tank is out, check the hard brake lines in/around the master cylinder, then next job overall is to go through the braking system, again, inspecting & replacing, especially th...

Dimension needed please- rear wing mount

Could someone with a late model car, or even just a rear wing, give me the dimension from straight edge of wing on B post, to the mounting hole/bolt on the bottom edge?
My wings are in the darkest recess of the garage at the mo & I'm doing the sills at the mo!

Re: Beetle Tailpipes

Is it a genuine or aftermarket silencer?
I used to drive a Beetle & always ensured that both tailpipes were inserted the same depth into the silencer, which may or may not make a difference

That looks lovely!
I think we should leave the last pic as it is... upside down!
You'll probably have spacers fitted, to allow the wheels to clear the calipers, hence the abnormally long wheel bolts

I was alluding to the fact that it got burnt out in the film, having seen that page too!

I've known Big dave & Little Dave for donkeys years & never had any problems, they've always been very helpful & as a club, we've had good dealings with them at shows. From what I've gathered, they are only working on Thursdays at the moment & have moved from plumstead to new premises in kent, so ho...

Re: Dissy

That all sounds like a happy ending! Good luck with the drive & shims You'll have already thought of this, but if your Fuel pump pedestal comes out easily, it gives you a view down into the case as you pull the drive I take it you've got the L shaped Timing plate/aid? (looks like you're missing a ho...

Space is always tight with a Type 3 I'm on a 205T, As far as I know it's original to the car. from memory, as you stand behind the car looking into the engine bay, the vac can is 10-12 o clock & you have to move the Oil pressure manifold to suit. Has your engine been messed about with? Are you happy...

Re: Headlamp mounting bracket

You can't source one as such
Just make an angle bracket & drill/tap it to suit
Ideally welded in place, but I don't see why you couldnt just use self tapping screws to secure it in place.
