this is my new dub i bought her few weeks back (barn find) push button model with a sunroof that works

They changed to the 1964 model from August '63, but obvioiusly the registration date doesn't actually mean when it was made.
The colour (assuming original Sea blue) was used for 1964 and 1965 model years only. I think the moustache also changed for '64 but apart from having a '64 1500S Variant in the family until about '78, I couldn't be sure what wasn't fitted to earlier models.
Best way is from the chassis number; from 221 975 to 483 592 it's a '64 model year.

You can tell a 63 model by the lights on the front quarters because they're above the swage line and I think I'm right in saying they all had bullet indicators and no side trim because there was no S spec car in 63.
'64 models were the last with pushbutton dash although it might have been changed half way through the year. I know this because mine is also a 64 1500 S model with push button dash and orange needle gauges Mine was first registered September/October 1963

i did not take it offensively dude i dont no type 3's really that well i'm a bus man and this is all new to me i take all the comments as good info for me and the car as for lowerinh i cant get it any lower as the roads round my way are too bumpy stick a pic on of yours for me so i can see yours dude the wheels int mine which sucks i have some fuchs coming for it .
