The interior looks like Delta green, but the outside looks more turquoise. Two-tone colours from the factory have never been very common, so I suspect it may have been resprayed externally.

It's all hidden behind the outer wing, so repairs don't have to be perfect, which makes it easier / not as expensive if you're paying for someone to do them.

It's pretty common to find rust there - often into the inside where seam sealer has cracked off.

That depends on your talents.

There's not much that's all that structural in that area. The engine mounting area would have to be sound for 12" around. The body is fixed to the subframe much higher up at engine deck level so should be OK. The floorpan edge to body joint needs sorting at least.

In a way, it's as easy or easier to replace a decent piece of metal than weld up lots of holes.

You do have a fair bit of fabrication to do though. If you can't MIG-weld and panel-beat at the moment, you are going to have to learn! It's all hidden, so as long as it's solid, it should be OK.

yep as editor says you need to make metal panels , i used to use cardboard to make templates and go from there

Sometimes thick clear polythene and marker pen is quite handy - you can mark the shape and any bolt holes etc before cutting out the rusty panel.

Love it, not many UK cars left to be found. This can be fixed. Even some of the fresh imports have rotten bases to the heater channels, so need the body off anyway. Get yourself to a welding evening class and buy a mig, it will be the best money you spend. Head to www.welders.co.uk - excellent prices and service. Save it!! 8)
www.barnwest.com - where all the best rust goes!
