Solex 32 Carburettor Gaskets

Post by broady_6 » 12th September 2020 - 12:37pm

Solex 32 PDIST Gaskets made from Victor Rienz AFM43. This is a petrol resistant material. Details of the spec can be found here.

https://www.reinz-industrial.com/en/pro ... fm-34.aspx

They are suitable for a couple of uses before replacement is required. Ive run these for 2 years with out issue, as have a handful of club members. Ideal if you wish to take the top off the carb to clean any sediment, but dont want to buy a full rebuild kit.

Hello,

I'm not selling a gearbox mountt or window scraper. There aren't any listed in my advert above. But I am selling the gaskets.

The total for the gaskets posted first class is £23.

I assume you have some how confused my advert with Craig's? viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14993

Re: Solex 32 Carburettor Gaskets / Heat insulation flange

Post by PP » 14th June 2022 - 8:45pm

I'm doing a rebuild on carbs at the moment ; I have a few questions

Heat insulation flange

The bakalite ones in my car are 6mm, but the Paruzzi ones are 4 mm - which is correct ?
https://www.paruzzi.com/uk/volkswagen/e ... old/32134/

Do paper gaskets 1mm /1.5 mm go on either side of the heat insulation flange ? ie 2 per carb ?
https://www.paruzzi.com/uk/volkswagen/e ... fold/5237/

Manifold to head gaskets

Presume that the paper 1mm/1.5 mm gaskets are favored over the stock metal ones ?

Thanks in advance for any help..

Sorry for the delay, ive been out of the country. Ive had a quick look in the IPC. But that page is missing, typlically. But its safe to assume you would need a gasket on any sealing face.

I prefer the "paper" gasket because it can be used more than once, and had more tollerance for slightly warped faces from years of over tightening.

Thanks so if I’m correct…

So that’s a paper gasket on either side of the Bakelite heat flange

And the manifold to head gasket is better as the rock paper one…

I would assume a gasket either side, doesnt make any sense to fit oneside and not the other. But the information is missing from the IPC.

And as I say I prefer the "paper" one to the metal one. Other people may have different opinons
